DKS Doorking 1815-392 Prox Reader HID ThinLine II w/ Surface Mnt Encl and amp; Tracker Board, compact, surface mount or other flat surfaces, supports HID 125kHz prox card formats and has read range of up to 4 inches, LED indicator and tamper switch, comes with 2 enclosures, a small housing that can hold one tracker expansion board and a large housing that can hold up to four tracker boards. Large housing also has convenience outlets to power up to 4 accessory transformers. An HID card reader is typically placed near an access point and programmed to grant access when the HID card is placed near reader. When a card is proximity scanned, the chip sends its ID number or other data to the antenna coil, which transmits it back to the reader unit by radio frequency signals. The reader then checks the ID number from the card and performs whatever function it has been programmed to do for that ID number.
