Are you getting the read range you want from your R90 card reader? If not, it's likely your card reader has contact or close proximity to metal... which causes the interference. This buffer plate is designed to help. It improves the reader's range by separating your RF reader a full inch away from the metal surface and provides a High Density Polyethelene (HDPE) insulator.
With its universal, pre-drilled & countersunk hole patterns and other markings, this buffer plate is designed to be very little work for an installer to use on any combination of reader, pedestal, housing, wall, etc. Markings on the surface of the buffer plate match up to HID's MaxiProx 5375 card reader hole patterns... and the countersunk holes allow the use of socket wrenches and recessed nuts so your card reader will mount flush. Lastly, the buffer plates have been designed with radius corners to match the most popular card readers
