Roll Up Garage Doors

The following are tips you can use to properly maintain your roll up garage door. They are usually big and heavy, but easily respond to regular inspection and maintenance. Run the following roll up garage door check up to ensure that it’s working optimally. By following these simple steps you are ensuring that miniscule problems don’t become expensive problems.

• The first tip is to look at the wheels. If they stick or bind to the track, it reduces friction. The simple solution is to adjust the track brackets. Simply loosed nuts found in the brackets to the door frame. Make sure there is a ¼ to ½ an inch gap between the door and the tracks.

• The second step is to look at the friction that may be produced between the door and the door stop. This friction can be corrected by adjusting the track brackets. Loosen nuts that hold the track to the brackets. You can then move the track until the door is no longer binding.

• If your roll up garage door opens too slowly or too fast, ascertain that springs have the right tension. Use a pair of locking pliers to block the door open and change the position of the S-hook located on the front track brace.
